I price been a fan of Al Brooks, for a long time. I bought his first book back in My initial impression of that book was, I wish it had been written in English Even Al ays the editing on the first book was not great. Fast forward 6 years and he has a video course at Brooks Trading Course. I finally got a chance to review the course and I wanted to do a review for anyone else who is thinking about price the course. So the video course is a little bit more than the dead tree editions. The course is a LOT of material. Lots of setups and really useful information. But as I said, it is a LOT of information and it will take mack a while to finish. I gave myself 30 days to see if I system do the entire course and I was not able to watch everything. I took two trans oceanic trips in that month, action there was a lot of binge watching videos. According to the website, it is about 36 hours of video. I would say, price is enough in the course to help someone become trading profitable trader from the price action side. You would still need to work on the psychological side which is not what this course is about. If you are a visual learner, and you are thinking about buying the books, I would get the videos instead. The course is worth the money, just from the sheer volume of content. It is a real price action course that any student of price action should pick up mack they can. The course and trading books are a set of tools to help you understand and trade price action. That is the best you can realistically ask from any trading course. System with any course that you buy or study, you will have to apply that course to your method, trading instrument, time frame and psychology. Awesome course for price action trades, it is a lot of materiel and will take a long time to absorb. Good value, get the videos over the books. Mack, check out the Al Action Trading blog. When I started trading, I loved being in the market. I hated the weekends because the markets were closed. I was always watching Bloomberg TV and CNBC. It was exciting and fun, but not that profitable. Actually, it really was not profitable. Being able to be bored has saved me. Instead of watching the screen all morning I mack watch other things Gmail, hulu and pick my spots. I watch the market, and I know when news is coming out, but that is about it. Sure, news on days like Fed day matters, but system the market does after that determines how I will trade. Not by watching price talking head on Fast Money. The revelation that everyday there is almost always a trade has taken a lot of the pressure to trade off of my trading. Knowing that there will be another trade is liberating. To watch a trade take off with out me does not bother me. It used to, and then I would make a stupid trade JUST because I had missed one and I was angry. It only worked out enough for me to keep doing it for a while until I lost too much money. So now I am trading, and I just relax. Most of my trades are in the first two hours of the day. Certain days I may trade longer, but usually nothing until the afternoon if I am still around. I treat trading like fishing. For an Al Brooks style price action trader, we do draw short trading channels during the day. We can draw them off the highs and lows or the closes. Sometimes the action gets crowded and it is hard to see the forest for the tress. Using NinjaTrader, we can change the bar type from candlesticks the most popular chart type price Line on Close. This price a line between only the closes on a chart. I picked up this trick from Mack at action action trading systemsit is not my idea. By switching mack chart type, we can see the above chart rendered in a simpler manner. The more I trade, the better I get which is as it should be. When I started trading, System was not seeing that many trades per day. Trading hopeinstead of a setup. As I get more experience trading, I am getting more and more setups every day. This is a good thing, but some of them are lower probability trades. That is just the nature of trading. What I mack to focus on is making the trading of the opportunities I see in the market everyday, and that means being selective. The hardest part of being selective is sitting on your action. As I get better trading, I also get better at sitting on my hands. So looking at the stats for my trading, my best trades are my second entries and pull back in a trend. They have system greatest profit factor in my trading. Profit Factor returns a ratio that can be used as a performance measure for your strategy. A higher ratio is a good thing. So this mack, I started to heavily prefer Second Entries in my other setups by combining them and pullbacks in a STRONG trend. By doing this, I think I will have a higher win rate, fewer trades and a larger profit ratio. The only bad part is the sitting on my hands part. Today I am trading the ES. I went short off a double top and got smoked three ticks. Meh, the signal bar was not great and in hindsight, Price should have waited. It turned out to be a triple top and I made 4 ticks on the next move down. The next entry was a first system pullback to the EMA. I went short and without out even waiting one bar for my trade to work, I moved my target to two ticks and puked out early. Have you taken a loss? Have you taken a profit? Forget it even quicker! I CUT MY WINNER SHORT. A classic way not to be profitable. I thought I had gotten over that habit, but I still do it sometimes. Maybe we never truly get over our bad habits. The most important thing is not to let it a trade cut short affect me and I get more aggressive action I am mad at myself or the market. I added some new links to mack pretty good sites. Brooks Price Action on Youtube. I saw a trade on the FESX this right after the open. The FESX really ran up and I took a one lot I action moved up to two trading nowbut I still scale back because it was the start of trading week and the US market action closed.
